"Londonderry routs Alvirne, reestablishes itself as a contender"
Roger Brown, October 5, 2024
“I didn’t think the effort and the focus was there last week (against Pinkerton), but they answered that this week,” Londonderry coach Jimmy Lauzon said. “The bad news for them is that this is the expectation from here on out. That’s what I expect to see."
NH Union Leader Power Poll | After Week 5
Staff Report, October 7, 2024
"Voters cannot agree on where to place the two teams following Salem’s big 27-13 win at Pinkerton Academy and the unbeaten Purple Panthers’ 41-15 thumping of Manchester Central."
Londonderry remains in fourth place behind Bedford ranked first, and Exeter and Pinkerton who swapped places.
The Power Poll is based on voting by members of the media from the Union Leader, NH-HighSchoolSports.com, and FNLNH Media.

"Londondery football bounces back with thumping of Alvirne"
Joe Marchilena, October 5, 2024
“Monday was probably the best walkthrough I’ve had in 10 years,” the Londonderry coach said. “It was laser-beam focus. Their heads were going up and down when we were going through film and I was going through mistakes.
“We showed them comparisons to years past, how we normally fly to the football, how we normally play defense. I tell them hustle is not a goal, it’s an expectation.”

"Standings: Boys Football Division I"
Londonderry beats Salem... Pinkerton beats Londonderry... Salem beats Pinkerton... (2018 deja vu?)
Londonderry currently sits atop the Central Conference standings in Division 1 - although there are still a lot of big games coming to impact these standings.
NHIAA standings are based on the Football Point Rating system that awards points for wins, and additional points for a beaten opponents wins.

Coach's Summary
It was great to see the team come out with great intensity and focus on Friday. They were locked in all week after a tough game last weekend and I think they realized how important it was to get back on track. We have yet to play our best football or play well for a complete game and we’re running out of time to see it all come together. We were pleased with the focus we received all week at practice and were even more pleased with the result Friday.
The defense played fast and physical all game, pitching a shutout and covering the field sideline to sideline. They made it tough for Alvirne to get their run game going which is something they’ve done well versus everyone they’ve played this year. The offense ran for over 450 rush yards and the special teams did a great job on kickoff coverage and hitting a field goal late in the first half. The challenge is continuing to reach that level of play every single week and meeting the standard of what we are capable of.

Coach's Summary
The team did a great job on defense as well, there were a lot of great plays and effort from this group. They did a great job of gang tackling and putting pressure on the quarterback, but a lot of tackles were missed which will be something we put more focus on going forward.
A lot of players touched the ball and had opportunities to prove what they can do with the ball in their hands on offense. We will continue to work on pass protection and being able to complete passes more consistently. Overall they did a great job and we’re very proud of their effort and enthusiasm on Saturday.

Coach's Summary
The freshman football team kept the winning streak going with a 50-6 win over Alvirne. With numerous penalties pushing the team back it looked like it was going to be a long day for the freshman Lancers. Once the second half started the team cleaned up the penalties and took it to the Broncos. The team looks to keep the streak going against Manchester Central.
