Coach's Summary
It is always great to defeat a rival in a big game. Our offense was very efficient in the first half, we ran the ball well and finished two of the drives with touchdown passes. All four quarterbacks played well and ran the ball great. The offensive line is the key to offensive success, and they were exceptional at times on Friday. We need to be more consistent offensively throughout the playoffs and play at the high level we’ve shown at times.
Jake Schena's huge 56-yard kick return
Conor Williams in the opening drive
Matt Carroll blocking for Jake's run
Fifth play of the game Conor breaks tackles to score on a 55-yard run
Blake Thompson kick-off after a successful point-after kick
The defense allowed a few big plays on late downs but held one of the best rushing teams in the state to just 56 yards rushing. Finishing drives on defense and preventing the big play will be our focus going forward. Special teams’ units have had some ups and downs this season and Friday was no different, but the FG team was efficient, the kickoff coverage in the second half was great, and the return team displayed how explosive they can be when they get the chance.
Sam Ogden passes to Devin Boles for a first down
Cam Brutus 9-yard run
Devin Boles scores on a 21-yard pass from Sam
Sam getting out of bounds on a tie-breaking drive in the final minute of the half
Caiden Malek catches a couple from Sam including one in the end zone
The O-line about to make some key blocks for the offense
Ty Miles celebrates after stopping Salem's Todisco for no gain
We need to work hard and put it all together going forward as we head into the playoffs. The players should be extremely proud of themselves from top to bottom for an excellent regular season. Our coaches are very proud of the team for all their hard work so far this season. We challenged the team to be as dedicated and committed to this season as the teams were that came before them, and they’ve met that challenge thus far.
Jaydon Navarro 20-yard gain on a pass from Sam Ogden
Jake Schena TD pass from Sam

Coach's Summary
The JV team came away with a close victory versus a tough Salem team. The offense was moving the ball with ease until they approached the redzone. We missed a few scoring opportunities, but our defense stepped up and held Salem all game outside of one trick play. The defensive line played exceptionally well and we played very physical which is always important to do when you’re playing a team like Salem.
We view the JV team as an opportunity to develop players and work on certain aspects of the game, sometimes this means throwing the ball to players that may not normally have those chances or running plays that may not always have the highest percentage of success, but it gives the JV players the chance to work on them, show that they know the plays, and learn from what they did or didn’t do correctly. We try to put the players in position to show us they can handle the tougher parts of the game that they’ll need to do well at the varsity level. This doesn’t always result in winning, but this year it did for the most part.
The JV team finished with a 6-1 record and should be proud and excited for their next year or two. I enjoyed watching the players grow and I hope it continues throughout the post-season and into the off-season.
