"Londonderry Awakens to Beat Nashua North"
Jack Belanger, October 7, 2023
"Sometimes it takes time for football teams to find a rhythm on offense. On Friday night, it took the Londonderry Lancers 30 minutes to get the ball moving, but once they did, they couldn't be stopped.
What was Lauzon thinking as the Lancers trailed in the third quarter? 'My thought was, 'I hope they wake up'' said Lauzon. 'Now it's go time, and we responded great with a terrific drive."

Joe Marchilena's team of the week: Londonderry!
"North was up 7-3 and then Londonderry just kinda woke up. They scored, they got in the end zone in their last 4 possessions of the game. Really just turned the game around in dominating fashion. They really didn't give up much to north the rest of the way."

Coach's Summary
Friday’s game was not necessarily how we want to win games, but a win vs a team that will be in the playoffs is still a quality win. We showed our true ability when we fell behind in the third quarter and responded with 28 straight points to put the game well out of reach. The challenge is getting the team to perform like that all the time. That challenge falls on me and I have to do a better job getting the players to execute on a consistent basis.
Conor Williams, the First Horseman, in the opening drive
Cam Brutus on a 23-yard run
Seth Doyon stiff arm and an 18-yard run
Blake Thompson makes a field goal for the first points on the board
I am not sure we’ve had a more dominant performance defensively this year and I can only think of a handful of other games in the past 10 years that I felt our defense was as dominant as they were on Friday. We only allowed 3 rushing yards and 74 passing yards. There is still a lot to improve on defensively when you dive into the film, but we played well enough on Friday to overcome any miscues that we had.
Jaydon Navarro making a tackle for a loss
Ty Parsons leading the Lancers with 8 solo tackles
Ty Miles taking down North's rushing QB
Matt Carroll getting North's runner out of bounds
Our special team groups are still yet to have a breakout game, but it was good to see our FG team execute when needed. Although special teams never hurt us on Friday, we’re used to them changing games in a positive way which we’re still waiting to see happen.
Sam Ogden breaking through for a first down
Mason Paquette TD on a pass from Alex Villa
Damon Dawson 3-yard TD run
Conor Williams 13-yard TD run
As we make it down the final stretch of the season we will play three teams with winning records, all of which will be in the playoffs. Every game is a meaningful one which makes for a fun challenge for the team and will hopefully bring out the best in the kids.
Jake Schena had 12 carries
Andreas Taliadouros and the O-line making a huge hole for a run
The offensive wall
D-line, Brendan Gear, Parker Jackitis, and Cooper Freitas

JV Win!
Coach's Summary
The defensive looked as dominant on Saturday morning as it did on Friday night. It felt like we had a similar performance as the varsity did, even though the JV got off to a quicker start. There were a lot of mental mistakes, but the effort on Saturday morning was great, we were the more physical team, and when we executed our plays, it looked great. Again, the challenge is getting them to consistently play well, but inconsistency is expected at the JV level.
Our JV team has several players that play like varsity players but because of the competition at their position, they are not able to get on the field much on Fridays, we have other players that are exactly where we expected them to be at this point in the year, they play well on the JV level and are developing well, and then we have several others that are still unsure of their plays or where to line up. It’s always challenging to find the correct mixture of lineups to make this all work and on Saturday we were able to do that for the most part.
Josh Conty stepped up to kick for the team on Saturday and exceeded our expectations. The offensive line showed a lot of improvement from last week and we hope the players will watch the JV film to learn and continue to improve.

Freshmen Win!
Coach's Summary
The Londonderry Lancer Freshman football team are onto 6-0 after defeating the Nashua North Titans 40-0. Special Teams came out strong in this win as the Lancers got their first onside kick of the season. Defense had two interceptions with strong pressure from the defensive line. The Lancers take on a tough Exeter team next week.
