Coach's Summary

The varsity team came out and played with a lot of physicality and passion on Friday night. Defensively we were challenged with some different formations and schemes which took us a little while to adjust to. We missed a few assignments which we were able to cover up with our pursuit to the ball, but that is probably unlikely to happen again as we play some very tough opponents going forward that will take full advantage of those mistakes.

...and scores

The takeaway in the 1st quarter on Alex Villa’s sack was the swinging point for the game. Paul Binder was able to scoop and score which put us up 14 points. It seemed after that point, we got back to playing better football, but the slow start is not something we want to make a habit of. We defended the pass game well for the second straight week. Offensively we scored on some big plays, but I would like to see us move the ball consistently up and down the field. It was great to see some new names score touchdowns this week, Paul Binder, Gabe Dantas, and Matthew Visconti were a few guys to score.

Lancers Win!

32 - 6

Similar to the first week, our JV team was excited to play and seemed to bring more energy and enthusiasm to the game than our opponent. The players were more physical and played much faster than Central which was the biggest difference. There were a lot of missed assignments on our end which is something that we hope to improve on throughout the season, but overall, the effort was excellent. We were able to play a lot of JV players on Friday night which allowed for other players to see more significant time on Saturday.

Griffin Massahos made his debut at JV quarterback, in which he threw a touchdown and ran two touchdowns. Griffin was asked to learn the position a few weeks ago in case of an emergency at that position, but as a staff, we felt he deserved an opportunity to play since so many quarterbacks played on Friday night. Griffin did a great job learning a new position over the past few weeks and we appreciate his efforts. Braedan Ayers, Avery Yazbek, Josh Cote, Nate Marshall, and Cam Ayotte are a few others that have demonstrated drastic improvement over the last few weeks, and we appreciate their efforts as well. We will be up for a challenge next Saturday in a tough JV game vs Pinkerton.

Lancers Win!

38 - 6

Coach's Summary

The Londonderry Lancer freshman team defeated the Manchester Central Little Green 38-6.  The offense did not hold back as the offensive line pounded the defense play after play and the running backs ran tough.  The secondary and linebackers played with fire and intensity as it shut down the Little Green’s passing game.  The Little Green run game stood no chance as the Lancer defensive line dominated the trenches.  The lancers are now 3-0 and hope to continue the streak against Pinkerton this week.
